Pennsylvania Agriculture Department offers seniors vouchers for fresh produce

The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture is again offering older countv residents vouchers for fresh, Pennsylvania-grown fruit and vegetables sold at area farmers markets

Recipients must be at least 60 years old and earn less than $21,257 a year ($28,694 for two persons).

People living in residential facilities that provide meals are not eligible.

Those unable to travel to distribution sites may obtain vouchers through a proxy who presents a signed form and photo identification for the voucher applicant.

Proxy forms are available by calling your local senior center, other distribution locations or the Pennsylvania Office of Aging at 299-7979.

Vouchers will be distributed from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 19 at the following places: Cocalico Senior Association, 336-7489; Columbia Senior Center, 684-4850; Lititz Senior Center, 626-2800; Millersville Senior Center, 871-9600; Lancaster Neighborhood Senior Center, 299-3943; Lancaster Recreation Commission Senior Center, 399-7671; NexGen Senior Center, 786-4770; Elizabethtown Senior Center, 367-7984; and Spanish American Civic Association (SACA) Senior Center, 295-7989.

Vouchers also will be distributed June 19 at the Paradise Township Building, 2 Township Drive, (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.), 768-7684; Ephrata Recreation Center, 130 S. Academy Drive (8:30 a.m. to noon), 738-1167; and New Holland United Methodist Church, 120 W. Main St., (1 to 4 p.m.), 354-0226.
